Rithum made its debut at the NRF Big Show in New York, where <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chief Technology and Product Officer Aarthi Ramamurthy shared three lessons about how to achieve profitability while combating rising costs, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">part of the event\u2019s Exhibitor Big Ideas Sessions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Lesson 1: Profitable Growth &gt; Growth at all costs<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Growth at all costs use to be the norm, but we now know that doesn&#8217;t work, Ramamurthy said. With rising costs and ever-changing consumer demands that can constrain profitability, focusing on profitable growth is key.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-141739 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rithum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Screenshot-2024-02-07-at-2.21.16-PM-1024x578.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"578\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">So how do brands and retailers do that?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> To combat these costs, Rithum allows brands and retailers to be asset light. Asset light inventory models increase profitability. This is achieved through paid search and shopping, paid social media and product feed management.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Lesson 3: AI is changing the game, and we\u2019re already starting to see gains<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rithum recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rithum.com\/blog\/ai-cadeera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">acquired Cadeera<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to build out AI and machine learning capabilities to help retailers and suppliers accelerate and scale faster. \u201cAI is such a hot topic. Everyone is talking about it. But for us, it\u2019s not this flashy buzzword,\u201d Ramamurthy said. \u201cIt\u2019s more about taking AI and machine learning tools and being able to apply those capabilities for very simple structural problems like supplier onboarding.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">AI technology helps Rithum normalize product data and get suppliers live faster, she said. \u201cWe\u2019re talking minutes \u2013 not days, or weeks,\u201d Ramamurthy said. \u201cThis is now possible because we have the tools to do it quickly and cost effectively.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Second, is the ability to curate the perfect product catalog. This enables you to prioritize products that are expected to sell well, she said. During the holidays, retailers and brands can map against trends. \u201cYou can find the right products, find the sellers who want to sell those products at the price you want them, and onboard them,\u201d she said. \u201cThis is a really big data problem, and this is where AI can come in and make a huge difference.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Using AI for fulfillment<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rithum can also conduct better inventory management on behalf of retailers with cost effective operations costs and the ability to fulfill all these products to customers. \u201cIt\u2019s not just about stocking the right products, or having the right sellers onboarded,\u201d she said. \u201cBut rather, identify when you should do it, and at which fulfillment center should have what kind of inventory.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That\u2019s just the beginning. \u201cWe\u2019re just scratching the surface on AI,\u201d she said. \u201cWe acquired Cadeera with a team of awesome engineers. We\u2019re now able to talk through how we can apply the technology to build supplier performance and onboarding speed.\u201d <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rithum is now the largest commerce network in the world with over $50 billion in GMV, serving more than 40,000 retailers and brands and generating more than $500 million in managed digital ad spend.
