After getting <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rithum.com\/blog\/industry-trends\/amazon-prime-days-2020-consumer-electronics-category-is-the-big-winner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a later Prime Day date in 2020<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Amazon Prime Day is back to its regularly scheduled cadence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With an official announcement for the much-anticipated July date on the horizon, consumers are already starting to think about what they&#8217;ll buy. And this year, there\u2019s bound to be <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a lot <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Prime Day shopping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Amazon Prime program soared to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcommerce360.com\/article\/amazon-prime-membership\/#:~:text=Amazon%20Prime%20membership%20grew%20to,2020%2C%20according%20to%20CIRP's%20estimates.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 million members<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2020, which means there\u2019s a good chance this year\u2019s shopping event will yet again reach record numbers. To give you an idea of what that profit potential might look like, let\u2019s take a quick look at a few stats from previous Prime Days:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By Amazon\u2019s fifth Prime Day in 2019, members were purchasing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rithum.com\/blog\/industry-trends\/amazon-prime-day-2019-record-growth-for-amazon-strong-growth-for-e-commerce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">75% more products<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than they had the previous year. Orders came in from 18 countries \u2014 double the number from the event&#8217;s 2015 debut.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2020, when membership was still hovering around <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/content-na1.emarketer.com\/amazon-prime-day-2020?_ga=2.237326400.1196345317.1601557210-277880806.1599674139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">142 million<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Prime Day marked Amazon\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/press.aboutamazon.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/amazon-prime-day-2020-marked-two-biggest-days-ever-small-medium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">two biggest days ever<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for small and medium businesses. Third-party sellers surpassed $3.5 billion in sales \u2014 a nearly 60% year-over-year increase \u2014 outpacing the growth of Amazon\u2019s own retail business.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After fine-tuning pricing and promotion strategies, many of the most successful brands and retailers have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rithum.com\/blog\/marketplaces\/inspiring-amazon-prime-day-success-stories-from-rithum-brands-and-retailers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increased their Prime Day sales as much as 100%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from one year to the next.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, that revenue doesn\u2019t happen by chance.
